Before I Forget
The new solo show from the creators of The Mushroom Cure about memory, mortality and meaning.
“Fantastic show – a tour de force! Hilarious and deeply moving.”
– Michael Pollan“Brilliant! Adam Strauss is an art form of his own… Capped by a huge, room-rocking ending that uses a live AI therapist.”
– Theatrius“Captivating… Strauss is so funny and engaging”
– San Francisco Gazetteer
Before I Forget is the ferociously funny true tale about the impossibility of getting life right, told by a man trying to outrun his genes, his past, and his search history. Artificial intelligence, Alzheimer’s disease, ancient Greece, and modern love all collide in a wildly inventive odyssey through memory, mortality and meaning.
Built from Adam Strauss’s real experience caring for a parent with Alzheimer’s while navigating the end of a long relationship, Before I Forget is emotionally grounded, formally inventive, and very, very funny, even as it looks unflinchingly at aging and grief.
